An empty search is not a dead end. Say where you want to go, and pilots will see it.

At any moment there are only a few hundred flights planned. The odds that one of them happens to go your way today are small.

So you can turn it around. Say where you want to leave from, where you want to go, and between which dates. Pilots heading that way see your request, and the moment a flight turns up that fits, you hear about it.

It works without a destination too. Some pilots simply want to fly and leave the where open.
